„It is good to be here!” (Mat 17:4)

Many of us share the same experience about Balatonszárszó. We wish to be there. And if we are there with others we say the same sentence again, "It is good to be here".

It is good to have a rest here. Certainly it is good to have such a place where we may have a rest for a while. It is good to know one another more deeply. It was good to have an "old" Szárszó, but now it is good to have a "new" one where we can relax at Lake Balaton. Yes, it is certainly good to have a rest. We must even have a quiet time for a while. This rhythm was planned so by our Heavenly Father, and it should serve for our benefit.

It is good for us to find a place for silence. The goal of our retreat is to listen to Him. It is good to be silent in front of Him. Alone or with our family members, or in a community. It is very good at Szárszó to have an opportunity to listen to Jesus, to learn something from Him, to meet Him and to gain strength in faith. It is Him who stands in the centre of our recreation time.

It is good for us to leave this place refreshed and accumulated. Perhaps we would be happy if our vacation lasted longer and our rest went on. The moment passes and the experience becomes a memory. Something, however, remains unchanged: Jesus is with us and we may continue our journey together with Him. It is valid even today what we read in the Gospel, "Remember, I'll be with you always till the end of the age". It is true not only in the hours of rest or special encounter with Him but it is a truth in the everyday life, in the struggle for faith, and in all of our ministry. Even this encounter wants to strengthen us in the latter. It is good to be here in order to be aware of the fact: He is always with us.
